Call of Duty: World at War is a lot like its predecessor, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. In most respects, this is a good thing. The guns are tightly tuned, the tone is gritty and mature, and the action is exciting and fast-paced. It boasts the same addictive multiplayer system as Modern Warfare, and even expands the multiplayer possibilities by allowing four players to play through the campaign cooperatively. Like every game in the series before Modern Warfare, this Call of Duty takes place during World War II. World at War does an admirable job of spicing things up, but between the well-worn source material and déjà vu game mechanics, there is a pervasive familiarity to the game. Still, though World at War lacks the freshness that made Modern Warfare such a hit, it nevertheless provides a hearty, filling meal–one that shooter fans are sure to savor.

The action is as explosive as ever.

The most salient difference between World at War and Modern Warfare is the WWII setting. In the campaign, you split time between two soldiers in two offensive theaters: the Russian push out of their homeland and into the heart of Germany, and the American struggle to wrest Pacific islands from the Japanese. Though you’ll alternate between them every few levels, the campaign feels like one solid progression, thanks to the adept pacing.

Each soldier’s journey begins at a low point. Weaponless and surrounded by the enemy, you get a taste of the despair many soldiers are never rescued from. Though the emotional tone eventually rises toward triumph, you never quite forget the fate you nearly met. The first few levels are a hard scrabble as you and your fellow soldiers try to gain a foothold for your country, while later levels are suffused with a sense of hard-won momentum as you fight bigger battles and push closer to your enemies’ capitals. Throughout each level you are accompanied by a superior officer who sets the emotional tone through well-acted dialogue. The vengeful, spitfire Russian pumps up your adrenaline to intoxicating levels, while the grim, determined American provides a sobering influence. This grim sobriety is further enforced by the actual WWII videos, photos, and statistics presented in stylish interchapter cutscenes. The message is, by nature, a conflicted one: Though you may feel like an action hero, you are actually participating in the most horrid of human endeavors. How you ultimately feel about this message will depend on your personal disposition, but suffice to say that the elevated emotional timbre makes for an exciting campaign.

Also exciting? Bayonets and flamethrowers, the two standout new weapons in World at War. You wield both in the American campaign, using them to enthusiastically dispatch enemies in trenches and fend off the aggressive banzai raiders. These raiders snipe from the treetops, or pop out of holes and charge you with merciless determination; this aggression makes the American campaign feel uniquely tense. The Russian campaign is slightly more predictable, but it remains vigorous throughout and ends in a spectacularly satisfying way. Explosions and gunfire will cause enemies to lose limbs and copious amounts of blood, making World at War a sight more violent than Modern Warfare. Still, in between the burning, stabbing, and gibbing, there is a lot of crouching behind cover and picking off enemies with your trusty rifle. This kind of action, and most of the other weapons, will feel familiar to anyone who has played a World War II shooter before. It’s a well-tuned and exciting familiarity, but it doesn’t make any notable leaps.

World at War does make a leap for the Call of Duty series by offering two-player split-screen and four-player online cooperative campaign play. It’s the same campaign as the single-player experience, though the number of enemies increases for every player that joins you. You can turn competitive scoring on and see who can earn the most points by killing enemies or reviving teammates, and this adds a bit of fun to the campaign and lightens to mood (it’s hard to feel grim when there are point values popping up all the time). There are also special items called death cards in each level, and collecting these will allow you to enable a cheat for cooperative play (for instance, enemies die by headshots only or headshots cause enemies to explode). These add a little more spice to the pot, but the only tangible incentives are challenges. Completing these tasks (such as kill 100 enemies with pistols or take first 20 times in competitive co-op) will earn you experience points that go toward your multiplayer rank (co-op is not similarly ranked). Cooperative play is fun in its own right, but linking it to the addictive multiplayer ranking system makes it relevant in a whole different way.

Multiplayer battles are as fast and deadly as ever.

In case you missed it last year, the multiplayer system introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is fantastic, and World at War has updated it to fit its WWII setting. The hook is experience points, which you gain by winning matches or completing one of the aforementioned challenges. As you earn these points, you’ll rank up and earn access to new weapons, new accessories (like sights and suppressors), and new perks. Perks are special abilities that grant you a wide variety of bonuses, but you can only choose four (one of which is vehicle-specific). This introduces an engaging element of customization: Will you choose to toughen up by increasing your health and bullet damage, or will you go the stealth route and increase your sprint speed while becoming invisible to enemy recon planes? Perks are well balanced, and you have multiple save slots, which enable you to easily switch between your various pretweaked loadouts. This allows you to take full advantage of this deep, engaging system that is just as great this year as it was last year, albeit slightly less novel.

There are, of course, new maps, and the bonuses you earn for kill streaks have been updated (notably, the attack helicopter you earned after seven kills in Modern Warfare is now a pack of nasty attack dogs). There are also a few maps that support tanks, powerful additions that mix things up without being too dominant. Most of the modes remain the same, though some have received slight tweaks and Capture the Flag has returned after a hiatus from Modern Warfare. The most striking new mode is actually a cooperative game called Nazi Zombies, playable when you beat the campaign (or play with someone who has). This absurd game puts up to four players in a house that is being assaulted by the undead. Killing the fiends and repairing the barricades earns you points that you then spend to replenish ammunition, buy new guns, and unlock new areas of the house. Each subsequent wave brings tougher, faster, more numerous enemies, and the game inevitably ends in grisly death. Though the random weapon box, assorted power-ups, and skills of your teammates add some variation, each play-through is similar to the last. Still, it makes for some intense, frantic fun and provides a welcome, if slightly bizarre, change of pace.

By staying largely true to the formula that made Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare so successful, Call of Duty: World at War has ensured a proven level of technical quality, particularly in the multiplayer arena. On the other hand, one of Modern Warfare’s strengths was its fresh approach, and by embracing a familiar setting and familiar mechanics, World at War achieves greatness but falls short of excellence. This is only a bad thing if you are expecting this game to top its benchmark predecessor. If, however, you are hoping for an exciting campaign, fun cooperative play, and engaging multiplayer action, then you’ll find a lot to be happy about in World at War.

The Good

    * Intriguing storyline and protagonist
* Varied missions that can be approached in numerous ways
* Massive arsenal of moves and abilities
* Plenty of activities and challenges outside of main story
* Challenging, but almost never frustrating.

The Bad

    * The scenery is dull and never changes
* Occasionally fiddly controls.

Manhattan Island has suffered all manner of fates in movies over the years. It was attacked by monsters in Godzilla and Cloverfield, hit by tsunamis in The Day After Tomorrow and Deep Impact, and targeted by aliens in Independence Day and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. But though I am Legend comes close, the New York borough has never before been subjected to a disaster quite like that depicted in Prototype. In this fast-paced open-world action game, the military is doing what it can to contain a viral outbreak that’s turning the island’s population into mutants. As amnesiac Alex Mercer, who’s trying to figure out what’s going on, you spend much of your time caught in the crossfire. Fortunately, what Mercer lacks in memories he more than makes up for in agility and superpowers, and as a result, he’s an incredibly fun character to play as in a game that also counts an intriguing story, varied missions, and some memorable boss battles among its features.

You’re free to explore all of Manhattan almost as soon as you start playing.

At the outset, Mercer is a much easier character to control than he is to understand, especially if you opt to play with an Xbox 360 controller rather than a mouse and keyboard. Making giant leaps, gliding through the air, and even running up the sides of skyscrapers are effortless actions. You could probably make it from one end of Manhattan to the other in a straight line using nothing more than the sprint button if you really wanted to, since it’s the only one you need to scale buildings, barge through crowds, and overcome obstacles like cars and rooftop air-conditioning units parkour-style. No fall will ever hurt you, no obstacle is impassable, and there are very few enemies who can keep up with you when you’re at full clip. Combat is also relatively simple early on, but as you progress and learn more about who and what Mercer is, his repertoire of moves grows exponentially until remembering which button combinations or keys trigger which moves in which of his five forms becomes something of a challenge. You certainly don’t need to remember how to use every single move you unlock with evolution points, which are earned by doing just about anything, but it’s unfortunate that even after picking favorites you might find yourself having to hold down up to three buttons (a trigger and two opposing face buttons) simultaneously to perform them. You don’t need to do anything quite that crazy on your keyboard, but there are a lot of keys to remember.

Regardless, combat in Prototype is a blast. Using the Function keys or a slick radial menu that slows down the game any time you call it up, you can shape-shift into different forms that morph your arms into blades, a whip, and hammerlike fists. You also have the option to use more conventional weapons dropped by enemies and, eventually, to hijack tanks and helicopter gunships. The latter are especially fun, because you can use a whiplike arm to latch onto them in midair–even while falling from another helicopter that you’ve been shot down in. One benefit of having all of these options available to you, as well as the ability to disguise yourself as any human character that you “consume” (read: absorb) to regain health, is that many of the already-varied story missions (as well as a couple of the boss fights) can be approached in a number of different ways. For example, if you need to destroy an item inside a military base, you could attempt it in one of the aforementioned vehicles, walk right in there and set about killing or consuming everything that moves, stand on a nearby rooftop and throw things, or even disguise yourself as a soldier and distract the real military by pointing at a nearby character and declaring that he’s the enemy. As a soldier look-alike you can even call in airstrikes from your unsuspecting comrades, but you get only a very limited number of these. Some missions, and almost all of the optional challenges scattered across the island, force you to play a certain way, but for the most part you’re free to use the environment and everything in it however you see fit.

Mercer grows increasingly powerful as you progress, but so do his enemies.

It’s almost impossible to play Prototype without feeling like Mercer is an overpowered character at some point, but any time you start getting too comfortable, there’s a good chance the game is about to change things up on you. To give specific examples would be to risk spoiling the game’s story for you, but suffice it to say that new enemies and hazards are introduced, moves you’ve come to rely on might not always be available or effective, and as time passes, Manhattan becomes an increasingly perilous place to be. The difficulty curve is nigh on perfect, and the fact that you’re continuously adding new moves to your arsenal to combat new dangers helps keep the gameplay from getting repetitive.

The same can’t be said for the scenery unfortunately. Save for a handful of landmarks like Central Park and Times Square, much of Prototype’s Manhattan starts to look the same after a while, and because the whole island is yours to explore from the get-go, it never changes. With that said, moving around the island is so much fun as Mercer that you inevitably end up exploring anyway, and there are 200 glowing orbs to find around the city to encourage you to do so. There are a number of other things to do outside of story missions as well. Optional timed and score challenges include checkpoint runs across rooftops, battles in which you must remain disguised as a soldier and use only conventional weapons, gliding toward targets and trying to land in the center, helicopter strafing runs, and more.

Memories stolen from other characters make Prototype’s story darker and more interesting.

Perhaps the most interesting challenges are those in which you have a time limit to consume a number of highlighted pedestrians in different areas of the city. These pedestrians, of whom there are more than 130 to find both during challenges and during regular play, are special because they each have some knowledge of what’s going on in Manhattan, and when you consume them, you’re treated to a brief montage of their relevant memories. Few of these contain much information individually, but they’re slickly presented, and unlocking a large number of them adds an extra, dark layer to the occasionally predictable story that’s well worth the effort. Similarly, if you choose to infiltrate military bases and consume specialist soldiers inside, you can learn abilities from them (how to fly a helicopter, for example) or improve your effectiveness with guns. Prototype’s core story missions can be beaten in less than 10 hours, but you can comfortably double that number on your first play-through if you’re not in a rush and take the time to check out all of the optional extras.

If those extras include the aforementioned military bases, you’ll find that Prototype’s camera definitely isn’t at its best when Mercer steps inside a relatively small, confined space. It occasionally has trouble keeping up with the action outside too, but it’s rarely detrimental to gameplay and you can always pan it down yourself after running up the side of a building if you want to make sure you land on the roof, for example. Furthermore, there’s a lock-on targeting system that will keep enemies in view at all times, which is especially useful during boss fights. It can work against you on occasion, though, because on a street crowded with civilians, zombielike infected, and abandoned taxicabs, hitting the lock-on button will almost always default to one of the cabs, or a bench, or a chunk of concrete, or some other inanimate object. That’s great if you’re looking for something to throw at a troublesome helicopter, but less helpful if you have almost no health left and desperately need to consume some folks.

Targeting innocent civilians isn’t encouraged, incidentally, but Mercer isn’t a character who shows any remorse as he tears up Manhattan and is a danger to anyone and anything that’s living. And make no mistake: Prototype is a truly brutal game when Mercer is on the warpath. Enemies will be cut in half horizontally, torn in half vertically, have holes punched clean through them, and be decapitated, skewered, and even used as projectiles. And all the while, there’s a plentiful (though not overly excessive) supply of blood spilling onto the streets. These particularly gruesome kills are accompanied by sound effects that do a decent job of letting you know exactly when an enemy’s flesh is being compromised, and screams from the crowd and radio chatter from the military do an excellent job of reminding you that the trouble in Manhattan isn’t always at Mercer’s location. Mutants and the military can be played off each other on occasion, and a quick look at the city map makes it easy for you to identify which neighborhoods are controlled by which group and which are contested.

Prototype’s Manhattan isn’t very interesting, but Mercer’s moves make exploring it a lot of fun.

Frequently, battles that you’re not directly involved in can be seen playing out as you negotiate the rooftops above, as can large crowds of fleeing civilians and mutants shambling toward their prey. Prototype isn’t a game in which any one visual element is remarkable, but it looks good, and the frame rate generally manages to stick close to 30 per second even when the number of characters and the amount of action onscreen border on insane. Furthermore, Mercer is brilliantly animated, which makes the parkour, the combat, the shape-shifting, and especially the gliding between rooftops all the more satisfying.

That’s a word that can be used to describe almost every aspect of Prototype, and although there’s no multiplayer component, you’re free to remain in Manhattan long after you’ve beaten the story or, if you prefer, go through it a second time while retaining all of the powers that you already unlocked. Prototype is good enough that you’ll almost certainly want to keep playing either way, and even if you don’t, there’s more than enough fun to be had here in a single play through for us to recommend the game without hesitation.

Google is one of the Internet’s largest and most profitable companies, through advertising dollars generated by the billions of searches conducted on its search engine every year. Google shares this revenue with websites that host Google’s ads and search function via its AdSense program, which drives additional business to Google. Earning money through AdSense can be a relatively simple process.

   1.
Step 1

      Establish a significant Internet presence. To qualify for Google AdSense, you must have a significant presence on the Internet, be it a website with significant content or a blog with sufficient posts.
2.
Step 2

      Setup a Google AdSense account. Go to Google.com and select “Business Solutions,” then “Earn revenue with AdSense,” then “How do I get started,” and finally “Apply online.” This will take you to a simple application. Enter the required information, including your website’s URL, the type of account (Individual or Business) that you wish to establish, and personal information to allow Google to make payments.
3.
Step 3

      Agree to the Google AdSense policies. Google strictly enforces a number of policies as part of the AdSense program. Read these carefully before agreeing. If you violate any policies, your Google AdSense account can be suspended or cancelled.
4.
Step 4

      Decide which AdSense capabilities you wish to use. Once your account is established, log back into Google AdSense and select the “AdSense Setup” tab to generate AdSense code. Choose how you will earn revenue, from “AdSense for Content” ads, by placing a Google search box via “AdSense for Search,” and/or through AdSense referrals.
5.
Step 5

      Generate AdSense advertisement code. Select the type of AdSense function that you wish to add to your website or blog. Follow through the wizard, by selecting a type of ad or function, creating a general layout that will match the look of your website or blog, and further customizing AdSense. Once you have selected all of the options, Google will generate code that you can place on your site. Repeat if desired.
6.
Step 6

      Drive traffic to your website or blog. The more visitors to your site, the more revenues you will generate through AdSense. Engage in marketing efforts that will drive visitors to your site, and continue to create compelling content to keep traffic coming. Because Google allows the same AdSense account to be used for multiple sites, create new websites and blogs, and place AdSense ads on them as well.
7.
Step 7

      Manage your AdSense revenues. Periodically, log into Google AdSense and select the “Reports” tab. Monitor the amount of revenues that you are receiving, and pay close attention to any specific types of traffic that are generating significant revenues. Modify your sites on an on-going basis to maximize your AdSense dollars.

A Few Tips:

1) Stay Regular TO Blogging…..(www.blogger.com)

2) Check Adsense Account Regularly…..

3) Increase Web Traffic By Posting Interesting Topics…..

But Remember Its Hard Work Getting That Traffic And Blogging…….SO KEEP BLOGGING!!!!!!!!!

Steps

Find a torrent program that will suit your needs, the most common clients are uTorrent, Azureus, BitTorrent, or Opera. There are plenty of other clients available as well.

Follow the instructions on downloading and installing your chosen client.

Go to a torrent site and search for a file you want to download (Search & Download for example).

Once you have found the desired file on the torrent site, click the “Download This Torrent” (or however they word it). Usually, the web browser’s file download manager will ask what to do with this file. You want to open the file with your torrent program.

If it doesn’t open that way, just save the .torrent file to an easy to locate place. Then open your torrent client and use the “Open Torrent” feature.

The download will start automatically. You may now go and do something to pass the time, because torrents do not require your attention and will download in the background.

Ever Wondered Why Somethings In Life Happen In A Pattern……As In You KNOW YOU ARE’NT GOING TO GET THAT JOB or THIS PLAN IS NOT GOING TO WORK or NOTIONS THAT SOMETHING IS A WASTE OF TIME BUT WE STILL DO IT.

These laws may help you realize your life pattern : ( TRUST ME, YOU’LL BURST OUT LAUGHING)

If anything can go wrong, it will

If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong

    * If anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway
* If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop
Corollary: It will be impossible to fix the fifth fault, without breaking the fix on one or more of the others

    * Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse
* If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something
* Nature always sides with the hidden flaw
Corollary: The hidden flaw never stays hidden for long.
Corollary sent by Dave M.
* Mother nature is a bitch
Addendum: and not an obedient one at that
Addendum sent by Paul Kekanovich
* Murphy’s Law of Thermodynamics
Things get worse under pressure.

    * The Murphy Philosophy
Smile . . . tomorrow will be worse.
* Quantization Revision of Murphy’s Laws
Everything goes wrong all at once.
* Murphy’s Constant
Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value
* Murphy’s Law of Research
Enough research will tend to support whatever theory.
* Research supports a specific theory depending on the amount of funds dedicated to it.

    * Addition to Murphy’s Laws
In nature, nothing is ever right. Therefore, if everything is going right … something is wrong.
* More Laws
* Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
* It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
* Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
* Rule of Accuracy: When working toward the solution of a problem, it always helps if you know the answer.
Corollary: Provided, of course, that you know there is a problem.
* Nothing is as easy as it looks.
* Everything takes longer than you think.
* Everything takes longer than it takes.
Sent by Jon Carpenter
* If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
* Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
* Every solution breeds new problems.
* The legibility of a copy is inversely proportional to its importance.
* no matter how perfect things are made to appear, Murphy’s law will take effect and screw it up.

    * You cannot successfully determine beforehand which side of the bread to butter.
* The chance of the buttered side of the bread falling face down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.

    * The chance of the bread falling with the buttered side down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
* More Laws of Selective Gravitation.
* A falling object will always land where it can do the most damage.
* A shatterproof object will always fall on the only surface hard enough to crack or break it.
* A paint drip will always find the hole in the newspaper and land on the carpet underneath (and will not be discovered until it has dried).
* A dropped power tool will always land on the concrete instead of the soft ground (if outdoors) or the carpet (if indoors) – unless it is running, in which case it will fall on something it can damage (like your foot).
* If a dish is dropped while removing it from the cupboard, it will hit the sink, breaking the dish and chipping or denting the sink in the process.
* A valuable dropped item will always fall into an inaccessible place (a diamond ring down the drain, for example) – or into the garbage disposal while it is running.
* If you use a pole saw to saw a limb while standing on an aluminum ladder borrowed from your neighbor, the limb will fall in such a way as to bend the ladder before it knocks you to the ground.
* If you pick up a chunk of broken concrete and try to pitch it into an adjacent lot, it will hit a tree limb and come down right on the driver’s side of your car windshield.
* The greater the value of the rug, the greater the probability that the cat will throw up on it.
* You will always find something in the last place you look.
* If your looking for more than one thing, you’ll find the most important one last.
* It is never in the last place you look. It is in the first place you look, but never discovered on the first attempt.
* After you bought a replacement for something you’ve lost and searched for everywhere, you’ll find the original.
* No matter how long or how hard you shop for an item, after you’ve bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper.
* The other line always moves faster.
* In order to get a personal loan, you must first prove you don’t need it.
* Anything you try to fix will take longer and cost you more than you thought.
* If you fool around with a thing for very long you will screw it up.
* If it jams – force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
* When a broken appliance is demonstrated for the repairman, it will work perfectly.
* Build a system that even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it.
* Everyone has a scheme for getting rich that will not work.
* In any hierarchy, each individual rises to his own level of incompetence, and then remains there.
* There’s never time to do it right, but there’s always time to do it over.
* When in doubt, mumble. When in trouble, delegate.

We Need Firefox For This Hack For All The Newbies

OPEN FIREFOX AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS :

1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages MUCH faster now!
ENJOY!!!!

Product summary

The good: More affordable $299 price; slimmer, more compact design with quieter operation; all games in high-definition; easy-to-use interface; doubles as a Blu-ray and upscaling DVD player; built-in Wi-Fi; 120GB hard drive; HDMI output with 1080p support; no external power supply; built-in Web browser; free online gaming service.

The bad: Lacks backward support for PS2 games; no infrared port means non-Bluetooth universal remotes aren’t compatible; online gaming, media, and commerce options still aren’t as fully developed as Xbox Live, though they’re getting better.

The bottom line: With a smaller design, more energy-efficient operation, lower price tag, and built-in Blu-ray and multimedia capabilities, the PS3 Slim delivers a compelling package for an affordable price.
